August 2010 Press Release

Marlon Reeve & Associates, LLC, are makers of the most dynamic musical instruments in the world today. Fantastic sound, intonation, and

workmanship are just a few ways our customers describe the instruments that we produce.

Marlon Reeve, Chief Designer and Founder/Chairman of the company, has spent a lifetime in the musical instrument business. He has worked

on the instruments of the greatest jazz artists and musicians. It was not uncommon to see greats like Michael Brecker, Eddie Harris, Jack Nimitz,

Bill Perkins and Dave Koz in his shop. They all came to Marlon to make their instruments sing. It is from this experience that Marlon started to

design musical instruments.

Marlon has designed The Marlon Reeve Saxophones for musicians.

There are two lines of saxophones.

• The top of the line Marlon Reeve is what professionals are looking for in a saxophone. The saxophone can be played in any genre of music. Currently, jazz artist David Choy of the Eagles Horn Section is touring with a RAASL Alto Sax and Marlon Reeve Artist Justin Klunk is touring with a RATSL Tenor Sax. Available in Alto, Tenor and Baritone models.

• 5 Series – are intermediate saxophones for the student in mind. It is designed with many of the attributes of a professional horn with an affordable price. It is an incredible horn. Available in Alto and Tenor models

Marlon has collaborated with Kenny G to form KG Saxophones, LLC. Marlon has designed saxophones to the specifications of his good friend Kenny. Together Marlon and Kenny have produced the “E-Series” and G-Series” Saxophones to the market.

• The “E-Series II” saxophones are an intermediate line of saxophone. The attributes that Kenny likes in a saxophone, ease of

play and intonation are integral to these horns. Kenny loves to play these horns and introduce them to lucky fans at his concerts. The E-Series come in Soprano, Alto and Tenor models.

• The “G-Series II” saxophones are the best professional model saxophones. This is a horn that Kenny would like in a modern

professional saxophone. The intonation and big sound is fantastic. They are available in Soprano and Tenor models.

Marlon has created Zephyr Winds Brass and USA Educator Instruments.

Zephyr Winds Brass

• Zephyr Winds New York Trumpet – This horn takes vintage characteristic sounds of horns of the past and melts them with

modern manufacturing and parts design. What you have is a trumpet that is great sounding, fun to play and affordable.

• Marching Brass – With schools in mind, Marlon has produced marching brass that both affordable and have a great big sound.

The marching brass is finished in either lacquer or silver. To protect the instrument a form fitted leather case accompanies the

instrument for ease of transportation. Baritone Horn, Mellophone, French Horn, Euphonium, and Tuba are available.

USA Educator

• USA Educator instruments are a very affordable line of instruments. Marlon has created flutes, clarinets, trumpets and alto

saxophones for the beginner in mind.

Last but by all means not least is the Ronnie Laws line of Saxophones

Ronnie Laws Saxophones

• Marlon and Ronnie Laws have collaborated on Texas Tenor’s personal line of Saxophones. The horn produces the signature

sound that Ronnie is known for all over the world. Ronnie is currently touring with these horns. They are available in Soprano and Tenor models.

The Nisei Week Foundation Plaza Festival is on August 14 & 15, 2010 held at the JACCC Plaza in Little Tokyo – Los Angeles. This event is one of the gathering points of young & old to experience the diverse culture we have offer as a Community.

The mission of the Nisei Week Foundation is to promote Japanese and Japanese American heritage and traditions, while bringing together the diverse communities of Southern California through arts and cultural education. We accomplish this goal by presenting the Nisei Week Japanese Festival in the City of Los Angeles’ historic Little Tokyo community. Commencing in 1934, this celebrated tradition is currently the longest-running ethnic festival in the United States.
The Nisei Week Japanese Festival’s long-standing theme is, “Celebrating Our Culture & Community.” We are excited to showcase traditional events, as well as introduce new, contemporary attractions. We aspire to share our culture with friends and families of every age, from all communities.

What makes Nisei Week truly extraordinary is the fact that this festival is produced entirely by volunteers. It is through the generous support and dedication of the Board of Directors, committee chairs, sponsors and volunteers that this tradition remains relevant in the Japanese & Japanese American community.

KDI Music, Marlon Reeve Saxophones, and Kenny G Saxophones provide Event Management as volunteers to produce this event for the Nisei Week Foundation This is our 3rd Year in supporting this wonderful event. The event is August 14 & 15, 2010 at the JACCC Plaza – 244 South San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
