Had lunch today with my friend Bernie Fleischer at Tony P’s Dockside Grill. Great view of the marina and food was very good. It is a great place to have a relaxing lunch.

Had lunch at a restaurant Twains in Studio City yesterday. Don’t think I am going back… the booths were so small my chest rested against the table top…. now how hard is it to cut off one side of the booth about 2 inches… who eats most… fat people. And if they cannot fit the booth they will not come back… It was also full of old people…. Food Just OK!

My friend Robin from Hawaii was visiting (he owns the Music Center of Hawaii) and of course took a couple of us to dinner at: Roy’s Hawaiian fusion cuisine in Anaheim. The food was great and the people friendly. It was very busy and you need to call ahead but it is worth it.

I went to a friend Jackie’s birthday party at the “bamboo cuisine” Chinese restaurant the other day and the food was good and the portions very big. As you do in most Chinese restaurants we ordered a lot of different dishes and shared them.. this way you get to taste a lot of very good food.

El Torito Grill
I just had lunch at the El Torito Grill in Torrance. I had the appetizer platter and it was great took about half home. The ribs are some of the best I have ever had and a few come on the platter. But the most interesting thing is that the waiters and buss boy ( If we can still call them that) Were all dressed in starched whit long sleeve shirts, black dress pants and were waring a tie. Hell they looked better that 99% of the customers. I am going to give them five start on class. Good food too.

Breakfast or lunch in the Valley there is only one great place. The Good Neighbor Restaurant. Located on Cahuenga Blvd across from Universal Studios it is easy to get to… parking is a little hard sometimes but well worth the trouble. Food great, service great and the people are great. If you really love breakfast as I do then you must visit the Good Neighbor.

The Stinking Rose
Well I had dinner last night with some friends at the Stinking Rose. Now the used of Garlic in food is one thing but these guys take it to the extreme. They say they serve food with their Garlic and it is the truth. I had the Garlic Meatloaf with of course Garlic mashed. They even had Garlic Ice Cream. Would not recommend it for a first date
but for a old married couple or good friends it is great. It is 10:00am and the Garlic is still with me!

The Country Touch Cafe
The Good Neighbor in Studio City is still my favorite breakfast place. I now have a very close second place for breakfast in Torrance. It is the Country Touch Cafe. They have a great sausage patty with eggs, hash browns and English Muffin. They also make their own muffins… BlueBerry and like that. The service is great and they are open for breakfast and lunch only. Prices are very good. Monday – Friday 6am to 2pm Saturday – Sunday 7am to 2pm

Hof’s Hut
Now if you are looking for very large portions of food then Hof’s Hut is the place for you. It is hard to finish a complete meal. They have a lot of great deserts and a very wide choice of food on the menu.
Now I have been a fatman for most of my life and that has brought me a lot of problems including diabetes, the fatman never gets the pretty girl ….. but one thing it has given me is a love for good food. Now I am not a Gourmet I just like food. I eat at fancy and not so fancy restaurants. I eat at fast food places (Not that much and more) and enjoy them for time to time. I am only telling you what I like and that is it. Take it or leave it.
